CALL
TO ORDER
President Darrell Mayes called the meeting of the Napa/Solano Chapter of ICC to
order.

INTRODUCTIONS
Self introductions were made by attendees. Meeting adjourned for dinner.

APPROVAL
OF THE MINUTES
Motion was made to approve the minutes from the March 4th, 2009, meeting as
submitted. No discussion or corrections were noted. Seconded and Approved.
SPEAKER
OF THE EVENING
Don Lambrecht form Single Ply Roofing, DLA Inc. presented information concerning
the products, installation, and inspections of the different product
specifically for TPO (thermoplastic polyolefin) and vinyl roofing. Sample of the
product materials were passed around.

issue briefly discussed involved:
Background
of Single Ply membrane, types, pro's & cons
Review of UL standards, FM standards and how they are achieved on a single ply
roof.
Review of Title 24 requirements (old and new)
Review of Cal Bldg code regarding metal edging, i.e: ES-1 Metal
Application details/standards
What to watch for when walking a single ply roof.
Don
answered questions posed by the members. One question that he did not have a
real good installation for was the electrical conduit and a/c condensate line
attachment on the roof without penetrating the membrane (which you DO NOT
want to do). Installation Guide booklets were available for the members.
Don Kavarian - 2010 California Residential Code and the focus group meeting that
will be happening April 2nd.

Energy Conservation in Benicia.

participants and went well.

OLD
BUSINESS
CALBO 2011 ABM: Harvey Higgs announced that the CALBO 2011 Northern California
ABM has been awarded to be hosted by the Napa/Solano Chapter of ICC.
Participants will be needed for the planning of events, committees, with
different event options and locations being considered. Requests for financial
participation from other ICC chapters will be sent out as time gets closer to
the planning stages.
Tom Garcia made a motion to move the “Inspector Time” toward the beginning
of the meeting to accommodate some of the inspectors who may not want to stay
for the entire time.
