MINUTES OF July 11, 2007 

CALL TO ORDER

President Tom Garcia called the July 11, 2007 meeting of the Napa/Solano Chapter ICC to order. The meeting was held at the Napa/Solano Builders Exchange office in Napa .  There were 40 members and 1 guest speaker in attendance. 

ROLL CALL OF OFFICERS

President: Tom Garcia– present, Vice President: Steve Jensen: present, Secretary: Dennis Corbett, absent , Treasurer: Dan Kasperson– present.

INTRODUCTIONS: Self-introductions were made by 40 members

APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES
Motion to approve June minutes was passed by the membership.  

ANNOUNCEMENTS: 
None

SPEAKER OF THE EVENING
Steve Winkel, FAIA, PE, gave a PowerPoint presentation on the "Introduction to the New California Building Code, Major Changes …  Steve manages the San Francisco Bay Area office of the Preview Group, and has written several books including Building Codes Illustrated: A Guide to Understanding the 2006 International Building Code (Building Codes Illustrated).  He is also the architect member of the California Building Standards Commission.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Building Standards-  Steve Jensen reported on activities of the Building Standards Commission including information about new green building standards being developed.

OLD BUSINESS: 
None.  

NEW BUSINESS:
Tom Garcia announced that the next chapter meeting for August 3 was the annual chapter picnic at the Rancho Adobe picnic site in Vacaville .

None

INDUSTRY REPRESENTATIVE:
None  

ADJOURNMENT:
There was a motion to adjourn and President Garcia adjourned the meeting. The next meeting will be the chapter picnic on August 3, 2007.
